A. Extra Clear Soap Base as it takes longer time to solidify which gives ample time for creativity.

9. What are the key ingredients of our regular soap bases?

A.  Water, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Stearate, Glycerin, Sucrose, Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate, Coco Betaine

 

10. What are the key ingredients of our sulfate free soap bases?

A.  Water, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Stearate, Glycerin, Sucrose, SCI, Alkyl Polyglucosides

 

11. What is the pH of our soap bases?

A. pH : 9-10

 

12. What is the melting point of our soap bases?

A. For Bases that fall under cleansing bar category :  70 to 80 degree centigrade 

     For Bases that fall under bathing bar category    :  80 to 85 degree centigrade

 

13. How much Fragrance should be added to the soap bases?

A. 1 to 2% of the quantity of the base being used

 

14. What is the quality of the ingredients that are used to make the soap bases?

A. All the ingredients used are either pharma grade or cosmetic grade and come with verified test reports.

 

15. How to melt our soap bases?

A. Our soap bases can be melted in microwave, double boiler or steam or oil jacketed vessel. Please go through our youtube channel for tutorials and tips on how to melt our bases. The link is given at the bottom of the page. In case you still face any issue while melting the base, we highly recommend you contacting us via email and we shall help you with the same.

 

16. Do we need to add any water to the soap bases while melting?

A. You can add 1 to 2% water while melting.

 

17. Why does a layer forms on top of the melted soap?

A. The layer is formed due to contact of hot soap surface with cold air.

 

18. How do I get rid of this layer?

A. Stir lightly, make sure the heat is sufficient and keep the lid of the melting vessel closed.

 

19. What to do with the layer/bubbles that are formed on the top surface of the hardened soap?

A. Scrap the top layer using a household/potato scraper. You can remelt the scrapped layer.

 

20. Do the bases have certificate of analysis?

A. Yes, the bases are tested in our lab and come with a Certificate of Analysis. COAs are provided on request.

 

21. Why does my soap base harden very fast?

A. If you feel your soap base is hardening fast, it means you are not heating it upto the suggested temperature. We suggest you to heat the bases according to the       temperatures mentioned below :

     For Bases that fall under cleansing bar category :  70 to 80 degree centigrade 

     For Bases that fall under bathing bar category    :   80 to 85 degree centigrade

 

22. Are any preservatives added to the soap base?

A. No presevatives are added to the soap base.

 

23. What is the shelf life of the soap bases?

A. 2 years from the date of manufacturing

 

LIQUID BASES

1. How do I dilute Shampoo and Body Wash Base Concentrate?

A. Dilution can be done between 30 to 40% of total quantity of concentrate base depending on thickness required or additives added. Dilution can be more than suggested as per the customer’s thickness preference. Filtered water should be used for dilution.
