A Handmade Lotion for Every Mood

A handmade Lotion for every mood

Why make a lotion at home?

For starters, by making your lotion at home, you can customize it to your needs and personality.

Furthermore, you can be sure of the quality of ingredients that will eventually go on your skin.

Most importantly, store-bought lotions can have many harsh chemicals, and synthetic agents like color and fragrance that are easily avoided.

You can make your lotion at home with an essential oil of your choice that is completely natural.

Besides, you can add herbs, clays, and butter that serve the purpose of additional conditioning suitable to your requirements.

Above all, a homemade DIY Body Lotion is cost-effective, environment-friendly, and free from all harmful chemicals.

How to make a Body lotion?

How to make a body lotion

While you can make your handmade lotion from scratch by emulsifying oils and water using a plant-based emulsifier, however, this is a time-consuming and complicated process.

Soapy Twist brings to you a simple method by which you can make a variety of lotions in easy-to-follow steps and enjoy a lotion for every mood.

The Soapy Twist Lotion Base is an easily customizable sulfate & paraben-free, mineral oil and silicone-free formula that is also paraffin-free. The key ingredients of the lotion base are Sesame Seed oil, Kosher Certified Vegetable Glycerin, Coconut-derived emulsifiers, and Plant-based preservatives.

Using this Lotion Base, you can whip up a variety of body lotions, including shea butter body lotion, calamine lotion as well and a mosquito repellant lotion.

Soapy Twist shares with you a basic recipe with which you can customize a variety of options from just 1 jar of Soapy Twist Lotion base and get 750 grams of lotion a bottle for every mood!

  1. Soapy Twist Lotion Base
  2. Additives
  3. Essential Oils

Step 1.

Weigh and add Soapy Twist Lotion Base to a sanitized wide-mouthed container.

Step 2.

Choose your additive: An additive is a further nourishing, conditioning, and hydrating ingredient that makes your body lotion unique. You can choose from

  1. Aloe Vera Gel: mostly used to blend in clays @ 2 %
  2. Cosmetic Clays: Apart from imparting natural color to your lotion, they also offer skin nourishing and conditioning properties. Always add @ 1%
  3. Body Butter: Adding a choice of butter to your lotion makes it exotic and luxurious, adding to the nourishing and conditioning properties of your exotic DIY Body lotion. Always remember to melt and add the butter @ 1%
  4. Carrier Oil:  The most popular is Vitamin E Oil, but any carrier oil can be added to your lotion to further enhance its conditioning ability, quality, and texture. Always use carrier oil @ 1%

Step 3.

Choose Your Lotion Scent: While perfume for your body lotion can be a fragrance oil, which comes in a great variety, but does not offer any benefits, adding a natural essential oil to your lotion will make it richer and exclusive to your skin’s requirements.

Soapy Twist has introduced a variety of allergen-free fragrance Oils for customers who may have sensitive skin and may not wish to add essential oils to their lotion. The allergen-free fragrance is free from all the potential 24 allergy-causing ingredients that have been outlined in the 7th amendment of the EU cosmetics directive.

Step 4

Mix all the ingredients one by one in the lotion base till they are incorporated fully and within 10 minutes, your lotion for every mood will be ready to use.
