Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda, is a key ingredient in bath bombs. It's a white crystalline powder with a slightly salty & alkaline taste.

  It is gentle on the skin and helps to draw out oil and impurities, leaving the skin feeling clean and smooth.

In bath bombs it creates fizzing action combined with citric acid. It is known for its mild exfoliating properties. It helps to carry and disperse fragrances and essential oils added to the bath bombs.

Usage

 

Abrasive Agent: Sodium bicarbonate functions as an abrasive in cosmetic and personal care products. It helps remove dirt and dead cells from the surface of the skin, keeping it clean and protecting it from infections such as acne.

Buffering Agent: As a buffering agent, sodium bicarbonate helps maintain the normal pH balance of the skin. 

Skin Protecting Agent: Sodium bicarbonate also functions as a skin-protecting agent. It helps in reducing premature aging and skin irritation.

Deodorizing Agent: Sodium bicarbonate is used in deodorants to mask, reduce, or eliminate undesirable odors in the product as well as on the skin.
