HOW TO USE ?

HOW TO USE SULFATE FREE SHEA BUTTER MELT AND POUR SOAP BASE

Transform your skincare routine with Soapy Twist's creamy Shea Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base. Nourish, moisturize, and heal your skin while creating unique, designer soaps. Start crafting your perfect soap today!

Step 1

UNBOX THE SOAP BASE AND CUT IN SMALL CHUNKS.

Weigh and cut the Sulfate free Shea Butter soap base into small chunks.

Step 2

MELT THE SOAP BASE IN A HEAT SAFE CONTAINER IN A MICROWAVE.

Melt the Sulfate Free Shea Butter soap base in a heat safe sanitized container. To the heat safe beaker, add a spoon full of water for moisture loss. Place a cling film or lid over the beaker and heat for sixty seconds. Stir the base once after 60 seconds and repeat the process till the soap melts fully.

Step 3

ALTERNATVIELY, YOU MAY USE THE DOUBLE BOILER METHOD TO MELT THE SOAP

Alternatively, you may use a double boiler. Add the soap chunks to a double boiler or a soap melter, add a tea spoon of water to compensate for moisture loss. Keep Stirring gently till the soap chunks melt completely. Make sure not to over heat the soap base or it will burn.

Step 4

ADD THE FRAGRANCE / ESSENTIAL OIL TO THE MELTED SOAP BASE.

Add the fragrance oil/ essential oil / herbal powder to the melted soap base and mix well. Ensure that the dosage for Essential Oil should not exceed 1% and for Fragrance Oil should not exceed 2%. Limit the use of Herbal Powder to 2% of your total output.

Step 5

POUR MELTED SOAP IN SOAP MOULD.

Pour the melted soap base in a heat safe soap mould and leave it to set at room temperature.

Step 6

SPRAY ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL TO RELEASE THE AIR BUBBLES.

Spray Isopropyl Alcohol to release all the air bubbles on the surface of the soap.

Step 7

ONCE FULLY SET, DEMOULD THE SOAP AND SHRINK WRAP FOR FUTURE USE.

Once the soap is fully hard, pop the soap out of the mould and shrink wrap in cling film for future use. Use the soap within 24 months.

H2O, steam-distilled water is used in making this soap base. It is free from impurities and hard water minerals, and provides a pure and essential base for your DIY soap-making projects, ensuring clear and clean results.

Propylene Glycol

Propylene glycol (also called glycerin) is a pharma grade colorless, odorless, viscous liquid. It is derived from vegetable oils. It acts as a surfactant, cleanser, emulsifier, and viscosity-controlling agent in cosmetics.

Sodium Stearate

Sodium stearate is the sodium salt of stearic acid. It is a white, waxy powder derived from vegetable or animal fats and oils. It acts as a cleanser, emulsifier, and viscosity-controlling agent in cosmetics.

Unrefined Organic Shea Butter

Unrefined Organic Shea Butter moisturizes your skin and helps heal dryness and other skin irritants. It’s the perfect remedy for dry and aging skin.

Kosher Certified Glycerin

Glycerin (also called glycerol) is a kosher certified colorless, odorless, viscous liquid. It is derived from plant sources and is used as a humectant in skincare and hair care formulations.

Sucrose

Sucrose is common table sugar, composed of glucose and fructose. It is a sweetening agent used in various food products.

Sodium Laurate

Sodium laurate is another surfactant used in cosmetics. It helps dissolve dirt and oils.

Coco Glucoside

Coco Glucoside is gentle, eco certified natural, therefore an eco-friendly surfactant derived from coconut oil and glucose. It ensures high-quality, pure results in handmade soaps, benefiting both your skin and the environment.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine (CAPB)

Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E oil or Tocopheryl Acetate helps in increasing the shelf life of oil based products and prevents rancidity in oils. It is a clear yellow viscous liquid which is soluble in Alcohol and Oils but insoluble in water.

Studies have shown that Vitamin E plays a crucial role in protecting the skin from environmental factors. The d-alpha-tocopherol in Vitamin E is also known to helps reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Vitamin E can be used to nourish and promote the growth of new skin and hair. With moisturizing properties, it is known to soothe and prevent skin that is dry. By keeping the skin hydrated, it is believed to help slow the look of wrinkles and thereby promote a youthful, radiant complexion. Yes, Shea Butter soap is naturally condition and offers the direct benefits of organic unrefined Shea butter. It moisturizes your skin and helps heal seasonal dryness and skin irritation. It is particularly useful for dry and aging skin.

Can you put herbal powders in your soap?

Yes, you may add herbal powders to your soap base, but keep your usage within 2% to 4% of the total output of soap that you are making. The best combinations with Shea Butter Soap base are Almond flakes, walnut granules, red clay, lemon zest or papaya powder. These combinations make excellent skin brightening soaps.

How many soaps can be made from 1kg soap base?

You can make 10 Soap bars of 100 grams each from 1 KG Soap base.

Can you mix other soap bases with your Shea Butter soap?

Normally, for best results keep Shea Butter soap base exclusive but you may combine it with Charcoal Soap Base to make a layered soap or any transparent soap base to make confetti soaps.

Is a sulfate free melt and pour soap-base natural?

Soapy Twist Soap Bases are made with pharma-grade ingredients which are essentially plant-based. So from that point of view, yes our soap bases are natural. However, our ‘Natural’ Soap Base is an exclusive formula that has been prepared by using ECO-certified ingredients and therefore it is certified by Uni Cosmos as ‘Natural’. This is the closest you can get to an organic soap base in melt and pour soap bases.
